With reference to Your Excellency's letter No. 100/3 of the 24th. June last, I have the honour to inform you that, having in conjunction with the Commodore, carefully consider- ad the propositions put forward by the Naval Authorities, I have formulated conditions under which improvement and extension of the Naval Ranges can be carried out without Military objection.

The conditions have been forwarded by the Commodore for the approval of the Admiral Commander-in-Chief, and on receiving his concurrence I will communicate more fully with Your Excellency on the subject.
